A war of words have ensued among the leaders of SAD and Congress party after Rajya Sabha member Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa inaugurated a railway under bridge in Sunam on Sunday.
The local Congress leaders alleged that they had been ignored during the inaugural ceremony as the cost of the project was a joint venture of the state and the central governments.
Dhindsa rubbished the claims of the Congress leaders that it was because of their efforts that the railways gave its nod to the project.
Local Congress leaders led by Aman Arora later addressed the mediapersons. Congress MP from Sangrur Vijay Inder Singla said the Centre had contributed Rs 3.5 crore for the project and taking credit for central schemes was an old habit of SAD leaders.
Earlier, addressing the gathering after the inauguration, Dhindsa gave all the credit to his finance minister son Parminder Singh Dhindsa, who is also MLA from Sunam, saying that his son took pains tfor arranging funds for the project.
