Former Himachal Pradesh chief minister Prem Kumar Dhumal on Monday called upon the youth to follow the footsteps of Swami Vivekananda to give a new lead to their life.
Dhumal was addressing a blood donation function at Galore village of the district organised by the Shiva Yuvak Mandal Patyaho in collaboration with the Nehru Yuva Kendra and State Bank of India, Hamirpur, on Monday.
As many as 50 persons donated blood at the camp.
He said Swami ji brought name and fame to India with his just one visit to the United States and afterwards he was known as a great saint all over the world.
He said the teachings of Swami ji were still relevant, and thus, the youth should take a lesson from them in their life.
Appreciating the youngsters for donating blood, Dhumal said such functions should be held all over the state and more and more youth should participate in this endeavour.
District BJP chief Vijay Agnihotri said the contribution of the youth of the district towards the national reconstructions was laudable.
