Former chief minister and senior BJP leader Prem Kumar Dhumal is keen to take up central university issue to the people of state, and Kangra district in particular.

Talking to mediapersons here on Thursday, he alleged that the chief minister Virbhadra Singh had not been sincere with the Kangra district and it was the reason why the CM was raking up this issue by giving contradictory statements on the location of the University.

“Singh and other state Congress party leaders are trying to befool the people on central University issue. It was shocking that the state cabinet had passed a resolution that the central university would be completely located in Dharamsala whereas now the chief minister had taken a U-turn on the issue and was stating that it would be located at Dharamsala and Dehra,” claimed the former CM.

Dhumal added that the chief minister should understand that all parts of the state were equal and he should not try to divide them on the instance of his supporters, who had lost faith in the masses in successive elections.

Talking about the bad fiscal health of the state, he said that while state was reeling under worst fiscal crisis, the chief minister was giving appointments to his near and dear ones as the members of various corporations and boards and thereby putting more burdens on the state exchequer.
