Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Prem Kumar Dhumal on Sunday blasted chief minister Virbhadra Singh for targeting him and his family members during his rallies, stating that the BJP would expose the Congress party leader and his family during its rallies prior to the Lok Sabha elections.

While addressing the party workers at Khaggal village on Sunday, he said the chief minister had failed to give good governance to the people and that was why he was targeting the BJP and its leaders.

Dhuumal said the party would strongly oppose the evil designs of the Congress party and its leaders during various meetings to be held in coming months.

He informed the BJP workers that the party had decided to organise a massive state-level rally at the historic Chaugan ground in Sujanpur on February 16 with Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi as the chief guest. The BJP had proposed arrangements for over five lakh party workers at the rally from across the state, he added.

Dhumal said the main aim of the rally would be to present Modi as the BJP Prime Ministerial candidate and to seek his views and guidance for the party affairs.

The former chief minister said the Sujanpur rally would be a historic one and would fully expose the Congress party and it's so-called pro-people programmes.

While talking to the workers, he told them to be vigilant about the nefarious moves of the Congress party leaders and workers and expose them on all fronts during their personal interactions with the people of their respective areas.

He said the Congress party had neither any policy nor programme, and was busy pleasing foreign bosses from whom it used to receive money for running the party.

Dhumal said during the Congress regime at the Center the nation had lost its identity and if one more chance was given to the Congress party, the nation would be doomed and, in fact, mortgaged in hands of the foreign powers.

The BJP leader said the Congress party governments at the Center and in Himachal Pradesh had badly failed in their mission to help the people and were amassing huge wealth through corrupt means.

Divulging detailed history of the party since 1953 when it was the Jansangh, Dhumal informed the party workers that all the party workers and leaders were unanimous to make Narendra Modi the next Prime Minister of India. He said a pro-BJP wave was discernible all over India and that was why the Congress party and its allies were targeting Modi.

He said Narendra Modi was heading towards landslides victory in the Lok Sabha elections and would form the BJP-led NDA government at the Center.

Meanwhile, BJP district chief Vijay Agnihotri asked the party workers to ensure that they were different from the Congress party leaders and workers as far as their behaviour and functioning were concerned.

He asked the workers to fan out in villages to inform the people about the policies and programmes of the party as the next Lok Sabha elections were nearing.
