A spokesman of the DHBVN on Monday said earlier, there was one transformers of 10 MVA capacity to cater to the needs of 6,500 consumers through eight feeders meant for agriculture, domestic, industrial and drinking water purposes. Owing to increased load and number of connections, the feeders were getting overloaded, particularly during the peak hours in the evening and morning.
With the setting of an additional transformer, consumers in all the 12 villages would be benefitted by way of increased voltage and regular power supply during the fixed hours, the spokesman said. Three of the eight feeders emanating from the substation will now be put on the new transformer, thus giving relaxation to the old transformer and feeding system from overloading.
The new transformer has, presently, been energised on no load. The load is likely to be put on the transformer in a day or two.
