Haryana's power distribution companies (discoms), Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (UHBVN) and Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN), will launch two facilities for consumers on New Year to get all types of complaints relating to electricity service redressed promptly and also to apply online for a new connection.
"The electricity consumers in the state will get the facility of registering all type of complaints, including relating to power supply, billing, and connections, on the SMS (short messaging service) from Wednesday. The consumers will also get status updates of the complaints on the SMS," the managing director of the UHBVN and the DHBVN, Anurag Agarwal, stated in a press release issued here on Tuesday.
With effect from Tuesday, the discoms also opened the facility of online submission of forms for new electricity connections.
