Dogra cremated with state honours
The cremation of former Congress minister Ramesh Chander Dogra was held at the crematorium on Hariana Road with state honours on Wednesday. His elder son Arun Dogra lit the pyre. Dogra had passed away on Tuesday at a local hospital after prolonged illness.

Thousands of people joined the funeral procession, which started from his residence on Una Road. Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee president and MP Partap Singh Bajwa, district president Sunder Sham Arora, former Congress ministers Avtar Henry, Chaudhary Santokh Singh, Naresh Thakur, MLAs Sangat Singh Gilzian and Rajnish Kumar Babbi, former MLAs Luv Kumar Goldie, Ram Lubhaya, former BJP minister Tikshan Sud, SAD district president Surinder Singh Bhulewal Rathan were among those who paid their tributes.
The district president laid a wreath on the body on behalf of union minister Ambika Soni. Chief parliamentary secretary Mohinder Kaur Josh leaid a wreath on the behalf of chief minister Parkash Singh Badal.
