After going to the Mumbai police against Radhe Maa, television actress Dolly Bindra has filed a sexual harassment and attempt-to-rape complaint against the self-styled godwoman and her disciples at Mukerian, where she has a temple dedicated to her.
Bindra has alleged that during her visit to the temple early this year, Radhe Maa incited one of her businessman followers to rape her. Police investigation is on. A few days ago, Bindra had written to Hoshiarpur senior superintendent of police (SSP) Dhanpreet Kaur, after which, a special investigation team was made. On Sunday, she came to the city to record her statement.
“During my visit to Mukerian, Radhe Maa started indulging in obscene activities and when the man started undressing on her inciting, I somehow managed to save myself,” Bindra claimed in the complaint. She told the police that the self-styled godwoman’s high connections had made her reluctant to file a complaint earlier. She claimed to have enough evidence against Radhe Maa and her alleged accomplices.
The SSP said he had put superintendent of police (detective) Baljit Singh Dhillon and deputy superintendent of police (DSP) Manjit Kaur on the case. Radhe Maa, aka Sukhwinder Kaur, had started her “spiritual journey” from Mukerian. She was married to a local sweet seller and used to stitch clothes before taking a different course. She comes to the town at least once a year to organise the annual ‘bhandara’ (distribution of food) at her ashram.
