Reacting to the statement of Punjab cabinet minister Bikram Singh Majithia that Congress should first seek resignation of Sonia Gandhi, Gurdaspur district Congress committee president Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, said it reflects the obstinate and unrepentant attitude of the minister due to extreme arrogance of power.

Randhawa said: "When the entire nation is shocked over the involvement of district Akali leader Ranjit Singh Rana in the ASI murder case, the Akali government did not even have the basic courtesy to apologise."

Randhawa, in a response to Majithia said: "We can well understand dilemma to protect your brigade of goons on whose shoulders the entire sand business, land grabbing and political setup is being run. It becomes quid-pro for those Akali leaders to protect these goons who work for their business and political interests."
