Dr Sajib Nandi, the former medical officer of the National Institute of Sports, was allegedly manhandled by the institute's security personnel on Wednesday, and denied entry while he was on his way to submit a presentation on the doping scandal.

Nandi was scheduled to meet Mukul Mugdal, a former Chief Justice of the Punjab and Haryana High Court, who is probing the matter.

Believed to be a whistle-blower on the prevalence of doping in India’s premier sports institute, Nandi was shunted out of the job in 2002 for exposing the scam.

“The security personnel roughed me up and threw me out of the campus. They even threatened to kill me if I dared to enter the premises again,” he said.
