Haryana government has decided to set up driving training schools at state transport depots in all district headquarters to extend the facility of learning driving for heavy transport vehicles.
Trained drivers of Haryana transport department, who would be engaged as skilled driver instructors on contract basis after their retirement, would impart training to trainee drivers at these schools, an official spokesperson said on Friday.
He said, initially two training buses at each location would be provided and these buses would have dual driving controls. One instructor per training bus would be engaged, he added.
He further said with this facility put in place at all district headquarters, the youth of the state would not have to go outside the state for getting training in driving heavy transport vehicles.
It would also put a check on getting fake certificates by unethical means, the spokesperson said.
Further, this would also help in removing the shortage of trained drivers for driving heavy transport buses in the state, he added.
