Drug haul case

Local police on Thursday claimed to have arrested another close aide of Drug kingpin Jagdish Singh Bhola, Rajwinder Singh alias Raju Rasheen, a resident of village Rasheen under Raikot Police Station of Ludhiana. Police have recovered 5kg Pseudoephedrine worth Rs 5 crore in international market from his possession.

Fatehgarh Sahib SSP HS Mann informed on Thursday that Rajwinder is relative of drug peddler Ravi Deol and was close to international drug smugglers NRI Anoop Singh Kahlon and Punjab police's dismissed DSP Jagdish Bhola.

It may be mentioned here that Ravi Deol, who is a close relative of international boxer Ram Singh is still at large.

Giving details the SSP said that a team of Mandi Gobindgarh police during checking near
minor canal of village Jasran searched a white Endeavour car and arrested Rajwinder Singh with the drugs.

Meanwhile, a case has been registered under sections 22, 61, 85 of NDPS Act.

He also said that during interrogation Rajwinder Singh has named one Gursewak Singh Dhillon, a resident of Toronto, who took the drug consignment to Canada.

He said that Dhillion routinely visited India and took the drug from Rajinder, which the latter procured from his relative Ravi Deol and Harpreet Singh, a resident of village Banwala of district Patiala. Harpreet Singh is already in police custody.

Earlier, Police had arrested Bhola's close aide Devinder Singh on Tuesday.
