A drunk man tried to tear pages of holy book at the Akali Gurdwara in Kamrai village of Bholath near Kapurthala on Thursday.
The accused, identified as Balwinder Singh, entered the gurdwara in an inebriated condition and created a nuisance. He was nabbed and handed over to the police.
As per the devotees, Balwinder entered the gurdwara wearing shoes at around 5 am and hurled abuses at the granthi. He then tried to reach the holy book but was overpowered by the devotees and the granthi.
