Dutch woman’s purse containing Rs 38,000 stolen in Amritsar

A Dutch woman’s purse containing around Rs 38,000 was stolen near 100 feet chowk in the city on Thursday.

In a complaint to the police, Richard Cavteu Charley, who had come from the Netherlands said her purse was stolen near 100 feet chowk. The police have registered a case against unidentified persons at the Local E Division police station.

Notably, few days back a French resident, identified as Cleamence Thevenious, had alleged that an unidentified person stole her purse containing a passport, some bank and other documents, Rs 1,900 and few other things. The incident occurred while she was depositing her shoes at the ‘jora ghar’ (shoe house) of the Golden Temple, during her visit to the shrine.

The police had registered a case but till now it remains clueless about the accused behind these incidents.
