Despite the Punjab and Haryana high court (HC) orders, nearly 140 private schools in the district both recognised by Haryana board and Central Board of Secondary Education have not provided details of beneficiary students under 134A to the state education department.

Earlier, HC had ordered state education department to order private schools to provide information regarding allotment of 10% quota (under 134A) to economical weaker section students.

Following the orders, education department had ordered all the private recognised schools to upload the availability of seats, admission notice of respective schools on department's website www.schooleducationharyana.gov.in.

The district education officer Satyawati Nandal said that all these schools were allotted passwords for uploading their data of beneficiaries, and many schools have come forward with their details to education department.

She added, "Strict action would be taken against these 140 private schools for not abiding the court's order, despite giving sufficient time for making information available by Tuesday. If any school fails to provide information then its recognition may be withdrawn."
