Eight students from the city ranked among the top 10 in the bachelor of computer applications (BCA) first year results declared by Panjab University, Chandigarh. Students from Khalsa College for Women (KCW) dominated the merit list as the top four positions were bagged by them.
Saloni ranked number one in the university by scoring 707 marks out of 800 (88.37%). Kritika Jain bagged the second position, scoring 674 marks (84.25%) and Chahat Agarwal came third by scoring 663 marks (82.87%).
Shreyans Jain from Satish Chandra Dhawan Government College came fifth, whereas Khushboo and Ruchi Jain, students of KCW jointly came seventh.
The ninth position in the varsity also remained under the city's name as it was bagged by Alisha Gupta, who is a student of Guru Nanak Khalsa College for Women, Model Town.
Saloni, who aspires to be a software engineer, said, “I hoped for a good percentage, but the first position in the university is a treat indeed.”
KCW principal Varinder Kaur congratulated the students and faculty and said BCA results were always a matter of pride.”
