Eight gamblers arrested in Mansa

Mansa police arrested eight people for gambling and betting on cricket on Monday. Their gang is reportedly active in many districts of Punjab, but their base was in Mansa, the police have claimed.

Five arrested for Mark Royal Hotel, while the rest were arrested from a car. Two cars, a laptop, 10 mobile phones and 11 SIM cards and Rs 5 lakh cash was recovered from the spot.

The accused have been identified as Surinder Kumar Momna, Lajpat Rai Laja, Deepak Kumar, Joginderpal Warola, Rakesh Kumar, Deepak Chabbra, Krishan Lal Sharma and Jonhy Kumar of Mansa SSP Narinder Bhargava said, "The accused used to change their locations by residing in hotels or flats in Panchkula, Zirakpur and Chandigarh.

The accused have turned ric and own large number of properties for which investigation is on. The accused have been booked under Sections 13 (A), 3, 67 of the Gambling Act."
