The Amritsar police recovered eight live bombs from railway tracks near the Sandhu colony area of the city on Sunday.
The bomb shells that looked old and rusted were later dumped in a pit. Amritsar police commissioner Nageshwara Rao said: “The bombs were taken to a safe place and later disposed off with the help of army.”
Live bomb shells were also recovered from railway tracks near the Naraingarh area of the city a few days ago. Earlier, the Tarn Taran police had recovered 25 bomb shells from near Goindwal Sahib on the banks of the Ravi.
