Motorcycle-borne two miscreants kidnapped an 11-year-old boy from Giaspura area on Tuesday morning. The accused made him sit on their motorcycle and ferried him towards Jalandhar bypass.

As they reached Jagraon Bridge, they were unnerved on seeing the traffic police checking the vehicles. Fearing arrest, they dropped the boy at the bridge and fled. The boy narrated the ordeal to the cops, who informed the police post at Sherpur.

The boy told cops that his name was Monu, a resident of Giaspura, and a student of Class 3 in a private school. He said he was going to school in the morning when the accused appeared on a bike near Pipal Chowk, gagged him and made him sit on the motorcycle.

He was then taken towards Jalandhar bypass and was dropped from the motorcycle at Jagraon Bridge and the miscreants then drove off the wrong side. Traffic police Pritam Singh said they had informed the boy’s parents and the police station concerned. The boy had been handed over to the parents.
