The Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) co-ordination committee held a massive gate rally outside its complex to protest against the government and power corporation’s decision to sell PSPCL’s prime 32-acre land for a downtown project, on the Ferozepur Road on Monday.

Several engineers and other officials living or working within the complex participated in the rally and raised slogans against the Punjab government and the power corporation management.

The protesters raised slogans against the management’s decision to shift the existing offices to different places. Police force was also deployed on the spot.

Members of the co-ordination committee said that the department should understand that transferring the land would not benefit the society.

“This would halt the overall functioning of the department,” they said. Sukhbir Singh, Bhupinder Khosla, Harbhajan Singh, Parkash Mann, Balwinder Bajwa and others were also present.
