With an aim to book schools that do not admit students from economically weaker sections (EWS), the assistant estate officer and sub-divisional magistrate (SDM central), Prince Dhawan has directed the 27 aided schools that were issued show cause notices to submit details of the EWS students registered on their rolls along with supporting certificates.
In another major development, he also issued directions to the director public instructions (schools) Rubinderjit Singh Brar to conduct inspections in these schools to verify the enrolment details. UT estate office had issued show cause notices to the schools that had not filled the requisite number of EWS seats under the administration’s land allotment scheme for which they have been called for a hearing on Thursday.
