The UT estate office removed the illegally constructed annexe in a Sector 16 house here on Friday.

A team of estate office removed the violation on the orders of assistant estate officer. When the team reached the spot, Puneet Puri, along with other family members, entered into heated confrontation with the officials and they were forced to call police.

Puri was rounded up by the police for not allowing government officials to perform their duty.

Preeti Puri, wife of Puneet Puri, alleged that the estate office removed annexe on behest of Suraj Mukhi Sharma, brother of former councillor Chander Mukhi Sharma.

She further maintained that they were having a dispute with Suraj Mukhi Sharma over the property and the trail in the case was on in the Punjab and Haryana high court.

When contacted, Suraj Mukhi Sharma said he had nothing to do with the step taken by the estate office.

"There was a violation and estate office acted on its own," Sharma added.
