A day after registering a case into the attack on Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) member and senior Akali leader Paramjeet Singh Raipur, police have arrested four accused identified from some video clips and pictures posted on the social media.

In the Adampur sacrilege case that sparked this violence, the accused ‘granthi’ (priest), Avtar Singh Tari (58), has been remanded in police custody for two days.

The accused in the assault case are former Adampur circle Youth Akali Dal president Sharanjeet Singh (26); former Punjabi journalist Taranjot Singh Khalsa (33); Kuljit Singh (19); and Gursharan Singh (24). Khalsa was picked up from a dhaba and the others from their homes. The SGPC member identified them.
