Terming the Rs 200 rebate on power bills by chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, 'very low', former Congress minister Subash Batra has demanded wavier of power bills in the state to the half on the lines of Aam Aadmi Party in Delhi.

Batra said this while addressing a press conference at his residence here on Sunday.

Demanding removal of house tax from urban areas, he said if the state government had failed to respond to their demands, then he would sit on symbolic dharna at Bhiwani stand on January 11.

Demanding equal share of job opportunities to the members of Punjabi community, he said, “The state government should make recruitment according to the population share of community in the state.”
Taking Hooda on law and order, he added the law and order had been hit badly under Hooda's tenure and commoners were badly affected by it. “If Hooda finds himself incompetent to manage the affairs, he should resign without any delay.”

Batra, earlier, was among the loyalists of former chief minister Bhajan Lal, who later switched over his loyalty to Hooda camp, after he came to power in 2005 in Haryana.
