Gurpreet Singh Bhatti, who left Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) along with with Manpreet Badal to form People’s Party of Punjab (PPP), is meeting Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) convener Arvind Kejriwal in Delhi on Thursday.
If things work out as desired by him, Bhatti may join AAP, said sources.
When asked, Bhatti said he had got a call from Durgesh Pathak, a close aide of Kejriwal, for a meeting. Bhatti said he would discuss agenda of the AAP vis-a-vis Punjab.
Manpreet Badal merged the PPP with the Congress in New Delhi in January. Bhatti had accompanied Manpreet to the capital, but backed out at eleventh hour. Later, Bhatti announced that he would decide his future course after consultation with PPP workers.
Bhatti was reportedly being pressured by top SAD and Congress leaders to join their parties, but he had been keen on merging PPP with AAP.
