Haryana chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Friday said that widows of ex-servicemen would be entitled for both military as well as civil pensions on the pattern of pension drawn by the ex-servicemen who joined state services after their retirement from military service.
An official spokesperson said on Friday that an ex-serviceman, who joined the state services after serving in army, was entitled for both military and civil pension after his retirement.
However, earlier in the case of death of such ex-servicemen, their widows were entitled only to one pension whether military or civil. However, now with this decision of the state government, their widows will be entitled for both military and civil pension.
The spokesperson said that that this decision would benefit several families of ex-servicemen in the state.
