Talking to media persons, Gurpinder Kaur, whose brother is stuck in Iraq said,"It has been four months and we are yet get any information about all the Punjabis stuck in Iraq. We have met the Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj and also CM Parkash Singh Badal various times. Although Punjab Government has helped us but still not much concrete is happening as Union Government needs to take up the issue more strongly."

It was good that CM announced financial help to families but in many districts families are not getting the announced help.
Meanwhile, the Chief Minister said that he had raised this issue with the Ministry of External Affairs and even with the Special envoy of India in Iraq, to ensure the safe and prompt release of these sons of the soil.
