Protesting against her daughter's harassment led to an attack on the woman' family. The boy's family was reportedly so upset that it ransacked the woman's house and injured the woman as well as the domestic help.

The police have registered a case against the boy Harjinder Singh, his brother Gurwinder Singh, his father Gurmej Singh and some unidentified persons under Section 452, 323, 324, 148, 149, 427 of the IPC. The accused are absconding.

Talking to the media at the Batala civil hospital, an injured Balwinder Kaur said that one of her neighbours, Harjinder Singh, used to call up her daughter at odd hours and pass vulgar comments.

She claimed that on Saturday, when she threatened to approach the police, Harjinder, along with her parents and other unidentified miscreants barged into their house and started beating them up.
