Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal on Sunday urged the Gujarat chief minister and BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi to give Punjab a special industrial package when he comes to power.
Addressing the Fateh rally here, Badal said that Congress, which always follows divide and rule policy, has always discriminated against Punjab.
Raking up the 1984 riots issue, Badal said that the Congress has always tried to shield its leaders involved in the anti-sikh riots and urged Modi to fasttrack all the pending cases when he becomes the PM. He also demanded a probe into UK's role in the Operation Bluestar.
Holding the Central government responsible for inflation, corruption, collapsing industry in the country, Badal said that in such circumstances Modi is the only hope for the country.
Comparing Rahul Gandhi to Narendra Modi, Badal said: "Kithe Gangu Teli, te kithe Raja Bhoj."
Badal also predicted the future of the ruling alliance saying, "I am not a fortune-teller but sensing the current political wave in the country I can predict that Congress will not win the upcoming Lok Sabha elections."
