A resident of Daduwal village under Fatehgarh Churrian police station was allegedly murdered by two unidentified men on Saturday night.

Though the family and the villagers alleged the involvement of the Kala Kachha gang, the police ruled out the involvement of a stranger.

According to information, on Saturday around 10 pm, two unidentified men knocked at the door of Dilbag Singh and as he opened the door, the masked men attacked him with sharp-edged weapons. An injured Dilbag was rushed to a private hospital, where he was declared brought dead.

Getting information, SSP Tulsi Ram and Fatehgarh Churrian DSP Kirpal Singh rushed to the spot.

In her complaint to the police, deceased's wife Sandeep Kaur said she, along with her mother-in-law and sister-in-law, was sleeping on the roof of the house while her husband and brother-in-law were present on the ground floor. Suddenly, someone knocked at the door and as her husband answered it, two unidentified men armed with sharp-edged weapons attacked him and injured him seriously.

Hearing the calls for help, the family rushed to the door but the miscreants escaped under the cover of darkness.

SSP Tulsi Ram said that during preliminary investigation, it was found that brothers Dilbag Singh and Lal Singh often fought on petty issues. He ruled out the involvement of a stranger and said the police were investigating the incident.
