Police has recovered three more bodies out of the four who went missing in a recent car accident near the Sounda village of district. The deceased were identified as Rupinder Kaur (wife of Ranjit Singh who was driving the car), Simranjit Kaur, 3 and Dilbagh Singh.
After taking the bodies home, a large number of people approached the SSP to submit a memorandum alleging that the car was intentionally driven into the canal by Ranjit Singh with the motive of killing his own family and members of his in-laws' family.
They demanded the registration of case against him by alleging that he used to harass his wife for dowry. "He (Ranjit Singh) use to cast aspersions on the character of Rupinder and he would often say that both children were not his progeny," Rupinder's brother Gurlal Singh said.
"On the day, Ranjit Singh came to attend marriage of his sister-in-law at Thaska village in Haryana and he departed with his cousin Dilbagh Singh, Sher Singh, mother Gurbachan Kaur, wife Rupinder Kaur and her two children. Despite taking the actual proper route he headed towards Fatehgarh Sahib and intentionally drove the car into canal near Sirhind," added Gurlal.
Ranjit and Sher Singh came out of canal while others were washed away.
