Fatehgarh Sahib MP and MLA honour newly elected members

Fatehgarh Sahib MP Sukhdev Singh Libra, Amloh MLA Randeep Singh and district Congress committee president Harinder Singh Bhambri honoured Congress-backed zila parishad, block samiti and panchyat samiti members at a function organized at Amloh.

MLA Randeep Singh claimed that 45 Congress-backed panchayats were elected in the Amloh constituency. He welcomed the UPA Government's decision to issue ordinance on food security to provide food to 800 million citizens. He claimed that the law would ensure food to 67 per cent of the total population of India.

He said that now it was the duty of the opposition parties to support the bill on floor of Parliament. He advised the BJP to rise above the communal politics and work in the interest of common man. Fatehgarh Sahib MP Sukhdev Singh Libra said Punjab government claimed that the SAD-BJP government's aata-dal scheme was a gimmick and was not working in practice. He also demanded a fresh survey of people living below the poverty line.
