Father, uncle of girl booked for beating up class-7 student

Two days after a 12-year-old class-7 student was allegedly beaten up by the father and uncle of an 11-year-old girl student of class-6 by entering the government school at Chaina village, the Jaitu police booked the two, Gagandeep Singh and Jagdeep Singh, both brothers, and residents of Chaina village on Thursday.

The police have registered a case against them under sections 323(punishment for voluntarily causing hurt ), 341(punishment for wrongful restraint) and 34(a criminal offence committed by several persons) of the IPC at Jaitu police station on the complaint of Satnam Singh, father of the victim Hardeep Singh.

The two accused had badly beaten up the boy for allegedly hurling a stone on the girl. The two had reached the school and beaten up the boy badly by allegedly hitting him against the ground and tossing around in the air. The incident had taken place on Tuesday morning.
The teachers of the government high school, Chaina, had rushed him to the civil hospital Jaitu after which he was referred to GGS medical college in Faridkot.

The family of the victim had accused the police of shielding the accused.
