Lok Sabha speaker Sumitra Mahajan on Friday summoned Aam Aadmi Party leader and Sangrur MP Bhagwant Mann over the Facebook video of the Parliament.
There was ruckus in both houses of the Parliament over Mann’s video. The Sangrur MP has been facing flak from all quarters regarding the video which shows him narrating the security procedures that an MP is subjected to while entering the Parliament building.
As soon as the House met for the day, NDA members raised the issue of Mann’s videography of Parliament House complex, terming it as a security breach.
Kirit Somaiya (BJP) demanded his disqualification as an MP, while his party colleague R K Singh, a former Home secretary, said the AAP member has put a question mark on the security of the sensitive complex. He demanded a breach of privilege motion be brought against Mann.
In the 11 minute 52 second video, Mann is seen entering the Parliament lobby with the phone where he also recorded the procedure of asking questions during Zero Hour.
Lashing out at Mann for filming security pickets inside the Parliament, the Janata Dal United (JDU) on Friday said the AAP MP must be refrained from entering into Parliament.
Speaking to ANI, JD (U) leader Ajay Alok asked Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to reprimand Mann for his act and sought Mahajan’s intervention into the matter.
