The local army and civil authorities installed ‘Vijaynata Tank’ on the eve of 70th Independence Day at Ferozepur on Sunday evening.

“Vijayanta Tank was the maiden indigenous tank initially inducted in Indian army in 1966 to guard the nation for next four decades,” disclosed Major General Vijay Pingle, general commanding officer, Golden Arrow Division after inaugurating the installation at local municipal corporation (MC) park. He was accompanied by member national executive, BJP Kamal Sharma, and deputy commissioner (DC) Ferozepur, DPS Kharbanda.

“So far, including Vijayanta, four tanks have been dedicated to public and for motivating youth,” said Pingle.
