Federation of Industrial and Commercial Organisation (FICO) has demanded that the infrastructure at the Focal Point area be improved so that the industry in the area could develop.
In a meeting with MLA Ranjit Singh Dhillon on Friday evening, FICO and Punjab Dyers Association also demanded that facility of Common Effluent Treatment Plant (CETP) should be extended to Focal Point Phase 8 so that dyeing industry could avail the benefits.
President of FICO Gurmeet Kular said, “Land reserved for the CETP for dyeing industries in Focal Point Phase 8 should be given to the industrial association along with payment and interest because at the time of allotment payment was taken for land and installation of the CETP and electroplating industry.”
Kular added that in Phase 8 there were approximately 40 dyeing units and it was not possible to shift them to any other place because they had already invested a lot of amount in the industry.
“Infrastructure of the Focal Point 8 should be improved because the condition of roads and sewerage system was worse” said Kular.
Ranjit Singh Dhillon assured the industrialists that immediate action will be taken to provide relief the industry and meeting with deputy chief minister would soon be organized to provide relief to the industry.
