FICO to meet CM today

The delegation of Federation of Industrial and Commercial Organization (FICO) will meet Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal in Chandigarh on Wednesday regarding under-noted problems faced by the city industry.

The problems, including additional advance consumption deposit imposed by the Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL), sewerage sharing charges imposed by the Ludhiana municipal corporation, three time hike and five years advance compulsory factory licence renewal fee imposed by the director of factories, will be taken up with the CM at the meeting.

FICO president Gurmeet Kular said approval of refunds above Rs 25 lakhs imposed by excise and taxation commissioner of Punjab, reduction of vat from 6.05%-2.5 % on bicycle industry and demand for technology upgrading fund to uplift the cycle industry would be some other demands that would be discussed with Badal.
