First-time voters get appreciation letter from the election commission

The district election commission on Wednesday distributed appreciation letters to first 10 new voters at every polling booth in this Lok Sabha constituency.
Here nearly 17,720 first time voters used their right to cast vote.
After getting an appreciation letter from the district election officer, Ashish Kumar (20) expressed his happiness. He said:" I have come here from my college to cast my vote. I had read the manifestos of the political parties and that I exercised my right to franchise according to that.It becomes more special after receiving the appreciation letter".
Amandeep Kaur (19) said that it was really exceptional experience to use the right of vote. She said, "It would be for the first time in my life that I will also contribute to elect a representative of my area. On the day of voting , a person voter feels the power of democracy."
On receiving appreciation letter, she said it was very good step by the election commission and it will remain in her memory forever.
Sharing views on first time vote, Jagmeet Kaur (19) said: "The right of vote is the biggest power of a voter in a democracy. Being a first time voter, I was very excited to cast my vote and I am very happy that I voted".
District election officer Priyank Bharti congratulated the first time voters for casting their vote. He said: "The main motive to give the appreciation letters to the first time voters is to encourage them to cast their vote and make them aware about the value of their vote in democracy".
