G Vijralingam, financial commissioner, animal husbandry, fisheries and dairy development on Tuesday said the Punjab fisheries development board will be established soon.
During his visit to fish seed farm in Bagrian-Fagan Majra, the financial commissioner told the fish farmers of Fatehgarh Sahib and Patiala that the state government wants to promote fisheries development activities in the state.
During the inspection of the farm, Vijralingam,stressed on the quality of fish seed production. Director and warden fisheries, Punjab, BK Sood, explained the problems faced by the farmers and Vijralingam asked for the detailed estimate for its upgradation and assured the farmers that their problems will be solved soon.
The farmers interacted with Vijralingam and other officials of the fishery department.
Sood checked the fish markets, while assistant district fishery officer, Pawan Kumar, chief executive officer, Manjit Singh, also expressed their views to develop the fishery business.
