A day after youth Congress wing of Baghapurana pasted anti-Badal posters on buses in Baghapurana, the district police booked five Congress leaders on the charges, issuing statements conducing to public mischief, on Friday.

The accused have been identified as former minister’s son and youth Congress leader Kamaljit Singh Brar, Naresh Yogi, Gurdeep Singh, Shinshi Garg and Manjit Singh.

Kamaljit Brar led by his supporters on Thursday, during their campaign in Baghapurana had pasted posters carrying pictures of chief minister (CM) Parkash Singh Badal and deputy CM Sukhbir Singh Badal on buses.

Citing sadi sarkar dian praptia (achievements of Badal government) the posters stated, “mai Shri Guru Granth Sahib ji di beadbi karan valean nu farh ni sakya eh hai meri sab to vaddi prapati (we have failed to arrest the culprits who desecrated Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji, this is our biggest achievement).

The other posters on similar lines stated “more than 50 lakh educated youths are still unemployed in my state” and “farmers are committing suicide in my state”.
