Five file papers for Amritsar, Khadoor Sahib, Gurdaspur

Five candidates filed their nomination papers for three border constituencies — Amritsar, Gurdaspur and Khadoor Sahib — on Saturday, the third day of filing nomination papers for the April 30 polls. While three nominations were received for the Amritsar Lok Sabha seat, two were received for the Khadoor Sahib constituency.

Five candidates filed their nomination papers for three border constituencies — Amritsar, Gurdaspur and Khadoor Sahib — on Saturday, the third day of filing nomination papers for the April 30 polls.


While three nominations were received for the Amritsar Lok Sabha seat, two were received for the Khadoor Sahib constituency. However, no nomination was filed for Gurdaspur.

With this the total number of nominations received for the three constituencies rose to 13.

FOR AMRITSAR
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate and noted ophthalmologist Dr Daljit Singh filed his papers for the Amritsar Lok Sabha constituency.

Besides the AAP candidate, Bhaujan Samaj Party (BSP) candidate Pradeep Singh Walia also filed his papers. The third nomination received was that of Satpal Singh, who filed his papers as an Independent.
With this the total nominations received for the Amritsar seat rose to seven.
Congress candidates Capt Amarinder Singh and Partap Singh Bajwa had filed their papers on Friday.

FOR KHADOOR SAHIB
The two nominations received for Khadoor Sahib were those of Sucha Singh Mann of the BSP and Balbir Kaur, who filed her papers as the covering candidate for Mann. With this the total nominations received for this seat rose to four.

FOR GURDASPUR
No nominations were received for the Gurdaspur seat. So far only two nominations have been received for this constituency.
