Five killed in road mishap near Rampura Phul

Five persons, including two women and a girl child, were killed on Friday morning in a car-truck collision near Lehra Mohabbat on Bathinda-Rampura Phul.

The deceased have been identified as Chandani, Reshma and her husband Amit Kumar, Jimmy and four-year-old girl Kaira. All were the residents of Rampura Phul, said the police.

The police sources said that the incident took place around 5:30 am and occurred when the victims were coming towards Rampura Phul from Bathinda after attending a marriage at Kalanwali Mandi in neighbouring Haryana.

Meanwhile, the police sources also said that a case for causing death due to negligence under section 304 A of the IPC was registered against truck driver, who has been identified as Bikar Singh, a resident of Bhawanigarh in Sangrur district.
