Former block samiti chief, 2 sons booked for shooting

Former Fatehgarh Churrian Block Samiti chairman Ravail Singh, and his sons, Amandeep Singh and Amritpal Singh, are charged with firing at a man a few days ago.

Injured Lovepreet Singh of Batala was under treatment at the civil hospital here, Fatehgarh Churrian station house officer (SHO) Rajesh Kahhar said here on Thursday. Lovepreet's statement suggests that the attack came when his son, Harsih Kumar, and he were on their way home from their dhaba.

"A Tata Innova car intercepted them. Out came Ravail Singh and his two sons, who started assaulting us. Ravail Singh took out his 0.12-bore rifle and fired at Lovepreet Singh, who got injured," said the SHO, adding: "Later, the three men put him into their car but Harish was able to call his relatives over, forcing the attackers to flee."

On the statement of Lovepreet Singh, the police have registered a case. The accused are on the run.
