Former Congress minister Chanda Singh died here on Tuesday morning.
The leader, 86, had age-related health issues for the past few months, family sources have said. He was cremated in the afternoon, and politicians and officials of the district administration attended the funeral.
Singh was first elected in 1968 as independent legislator from the Ror-dominated Nilokheri segment in the district, and re-elected in 1982. He then joined the Congress and became transport minister in the-then Bhajan-Lal government.
His younger son, Lalit Kumar Butana, is a member of Haryana Staff Selection Commission.
