Four accused in Shammi murder case sent on 3-day police remand

Four accused

The accused arrested for the brutal killing of Shammi Kumar, a resident of Ambedkar Nagar, have been sent to a three-day police remand. The police produced the accused before the court on Saturday.


The main accused Arun Kumar, Kulwinder Singh alias Sonu, Suraj Kumar alias Surya, Jatinder Masih alias Akhtar were arrested on Friday after a daylong protest by the kin and relatives of the deceased. Due to violence and vandalism, the shops of the area were closed since Thursday. The things started turning normal on Saturday.

Shopkeepers opened their shops on Saturday morning after two days and the rush of customers and commuters was witnessed in the market.

However, cops and reserved forces have been deployed at Bharat Nagar Chowk and Jawahar Nagar Camp area to avert any untoward situation.
