Four booked for stealing cars

The police have booked four people for their alleged involvement in stealing vehicles from the city and nearby places.

Investigating officer (IO), ASI, Malkit Singh, of Kotwali police station, said that, based on an input Gurpreet Singh from Bhullarwala village, Lakhbir Singh from Bhisiana and Amritpal Singh and Raj Singh, both residents of Bangi Kalan, have been booked for theft of vehicles under sections 379 and 420 of IPC.

He said that the accused were involved in stealing cars and selling them in other states after changing their number plates. They were allegedly seen travelling in the city in a Maruti Suzuki Swift car bearing registration number HR 51 AC 0731. The police have been searching for the accused.
