Four die, five injured in Karnal road mishap

Four persons were killed on Wednesday when a tractor trolley collided with a Tate Ace passenger vehicle on the Karnal-Yamnunanagar state highway on Wednesday.

Four persons were killed on Wednesday when a tractor trolley collided with a Tate Ace passenger vehicle on the Karnal-Yamnunanagar state highway on Wednesday.

Police said a family travelling in the Tata Ace was returning home to Jandola village in Yamunanagar district after paying obeisance at a shrine in Jind district when the head-on collision took place near the toll tax barrier at Dhumsi.

The Tata Ace driver was among those killed on the spot. Five other members of the family also sustained multiple injuries.

The deceased have been identified as Baljit Singh (50), Ram Chander (70), Kura Ram (50) and Jasbir Singh (40).

The injured, Sunheri Devi, Satya, Usha, Rajiv and six-year-old Arman were rushed to Kalpana Chawla Government Medical College in Karnal city.
