Four Kashmiris killed in mishap in Kangra

Four Kashmiri traders hailing from Kupwara were killed, while another one injured in a road accident at Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh on Tuesday.


The deceased were identified as Muhamad Rafiq Chopan, son of Abdul Ahad Chopan, a resident of Trehgam; Bashir Ahmed, son of Gulzar Ahmed Chopan, and Gulam Muhamad, son of Abdul Gabar, both residents of Sogam; and Abdul Hamed Chopan, son of Gulzar Ahmed Chopan of Trehgam.

The injured has been identified as Hilal Ahmed Dar of Trehgam, Kupwara.

According to reports, the five shawl traders were travelling in a tempo after they missed their bus from Gaggal in Himachal Pradesh to Jammu.

“The tempo was on its way when the accident took place near Draman in Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh, resulting in serious injuries to six people, including the driver,” said reports.

According to reports, the injured were rushed to the hospital, where doctors declared four of them brought dead. A Kashmiri trader and the tempo driver are said to be injured.
