A day after Shiv Sena leaders fired in the air from their licensed weapons in police’s presence as a mark of ‘tribute’ to their slain companion Durga Prasad Gupta at the cremation in Khanna, the police have registered an FIR against four of them.
Those named in the FIR include Rajesh Palta, Rajesh Malik, Ashwini Sharma and Sanjiv Ghanauli. They have been booked under Sections 336 (act endangering life of persons), 34 of the IPC and 27, 54, 59 of the Arms Act. However, no arrest has been made.
Khanna SSP Satinder Singh said action will soon be taken against all those named in the FIR.
The police, however, are still clueless about the killers. “We are working on various angles and hoping to get a lead soon,” said the SSP.
