Four thieves arrested in Bathinda

The district police have arrested four people for involvement in thefts in the city and seized some cash, a stolen car and a motorcycle from their possession. The accused have been identified as Gurpreet Singh and Jatinder Singh, both from Paras Ram Nagar, Ashpreet Singh from Naruana road and Baby from Adarsh Nagar.

A stolen car (PB 31 A 0400) and a stolen motorcycle (PB 03 S 3303) have been recovered from them. Superintendent of police (city) Desraj said that the accused have confessed to having committed theft in a mobile phones shop on the Santpura road here. The had also unsuccessfully attempted a theft at Kapur Gun House here recently with the intention of having weapons so that they could commit thefts and robberies at gun point. He said that the police would be interrogating them to know their involvement in other crimes in and around the city.
